Dette værk består af glas med væsker og præserverede plantedele, montre med tørrede rødkålsblade, oplægninger af genstande på et bord, samt en opklæbning af et rødkål. Ordet rødkålsvand er fra ca. 1835 og et af de 2000 ord som H.C. Ørsted opfandt i sin levetid. *Undertitlen er inspireret af titlen på et essay af samme fra 1796. H.C. Ørsted fik en guldmedalje for dette essay, der besvarede prisspørgsmålet i retorik: “Hvorledes kan det prosaiske Sprog fordærves ved at komme det poetiske for nær; og hvor er Grændserne mellem de poetiske og det prosaiske udtryk?”

This work consists of glasses with liquids and preserved plant parts, a display case with dried red cabbage leaves, an installation of objects on a table, as well as a herbarium of red cabbage. The word Rødkålsvand (red cabbage water) is from approx. 1835 and one of the 2000 words that Danish scientist H.C. Ørsted invented during his lifetime. The subtitle is inspired by the title of an essay by him from 1796. H.C. Ørsted received a gold medal for this essay, which answered the prize question in rhetoric: "How can the prosaic language be corrupted by coming too close to the poetic; and where are the boundaries between the poetic and the prosaic expressions?”
